Median Sales Price for Homes in Ormond Beach, FL

Average price per square foot for Ormond Beach Homes For Sale was $113, a decrease of 19.9% compared to the same period last year. The median sales price for homes in Ormond Beach FL for Jan 09 to Mar 09 was $156,500 based on 181 home sales. Compared to the same period one year ago, the median home sales price decreased 11%, or $19,400, and the number of home sales decreased 4.2%.

There are currently 1,138 resale and new homes in Ormond Beach on Trulia, including 4 open houses, as well as 206 homes in the pre-foreclosure, auction, or bank-owned stages of the foreclosure process. The average listing price for homes for sale in Ormond Beach FL was $324,321 for the week ending Apr 22, which represents an increase of 1%, or $3,173, compared to the prior week.

First-Time Home Buyers

The homebuyer tax credit is one of 10 key provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed by President Obama into law on Feb. 17, 2009.

The bill provides for a $8,000 tax credit that would be available to first-time home buyers for the purchase of a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009.  The credit does not require repayment.  Most of the mechanics of the credit will be the same as under the 2008 rules:  the credit will be claimed on a tax return to reduce the purchaser's income tax liability.  If any credit amount remains unused, then the unused amount will be refunded as a check to the purchaser.
